The client

What a mount costs, what it can move, and what happens when there is more than one mount.

What the FUSE layer costs describes how one operation passes through the layer that makes a MooseFS mount look like a local file system. That page covers the cost of each operation and the ways to avoid that cost for an application that does not need the mount. The per-mount throughput ceiling covers the upper bound on what a single mount moves per second. That bound is a property of the client machine rather than of the cluster. Multiple mounts and parallel access covers what each mount has of its own, how writes from one mount reach every other mount, and how writes from two mounts to the same file are kept apart.

Client and mount and the clients component page cover what a client is and the forms it comes in.
