MooseFS PRO only.
Uninstallation
This procedure removes the Windows Client from a Windows machine. Use the procedure when the machine will no longer access the cluster. Nothing stored on the cluster changes. The files stay on the cluster. The uninstallation removes only the client software from the machine. Uninstallation needs administrative rights, like the installation.
Either the Control Panel or the installer removes the client
- Open the Control Panel and navigate to "Programs and Features" ("Add or remove programs" on some systems).
- Find the MooseFS Pro Client entry on the list. The installer registers the client under that name. On Windows 11 the list is under "Apps & features".
- Uninstall it.
The same removal runs from the command line: MooseFS-Pro-Windows-Client-Installer-*.exe /uninstall, one of the installer's options.
The Dokan library is not removed when other applications still use it. The uninstallation of the client removes only what nothing else needs. Dokan has no entry of its own on the program list, before or after the uninstallation. The program list therefore does not show whether the library is still installed.
The program list confirms the removal, and the share stops answering
After the uninstallation, MooseFS Pro Client no longer appears on the program list. The missing entry confirms that the client is removed.
The drive letter is a separate matter. The letter does not disappear immediately. Until the machine is restarted, Windows Explorer still shows the letter that the cluster was mounted at, but the share at that letter no longer answers. Check whether the share is unreachable, not whether the letter is still shown. The letter disappears after the restart.
Removing the client from the command line leaves the same state as removing it from the Control Panel.
To install the client again, on this machine or on another machine, follow the ordinary installation.
