Metadata paths

This section describes where the metadata of an instance is kept, and how a change of that metadata reaches every place that holds a copy.

Metadata in RAM, changelogs, and dumps covers the working copy in the Master Server's memory and the two kinds of file that the copy can be rebuilt from. Leader-Follower synchronization PRO (PRO Edition only) describes the stream that keeps the other Master Servers synchronized with the Leader. The Metalogger stream describes the single connection that carries the same lines to a Metalogger, and what happens when that connection breaks.

The mechanics of the files themselves, and what a restart reads back from them, are described in changelogs, dumps, and the recovery point.
